About this record

Content

Letter regarding rumours of Sayed Soulem [Salim II bin Thuwaini]'s intentions to have Rashed ben Omair killed and his apparent descision to rescind this which had led to Rashed returning to Muskat [Muscat].

The letter also discusses Sayed Soulem's orders that no boat may come or go between sunset and sunrise, in an attempt to prevent Sayed Torkee [Turki bin Said] from landing near Muskat; and rumours that Sayed Torkee has instead gone to Kowait [Kuwait] to meet Abdellah ben Faiysal [Abdullah bin Faisal].

The letter concludes with a report on Sayed Soulem's relations with his mother and sisters and the current weather in Muskat.
