Letter regarding relations between British representatives and the Persian authorities in the Gulf and discussing recent events between Abd-al-Kasim and Zilzilah Khan and how these might affect the appointment of an Agent (the Persian Foreign Agent at Bushire).

The letter also notes that although Zilzilah Khan is the acting agent Lovett has received no authoritative orders regarding his appointment and therefore has not been receiving telegrams from him.

The letter concludes with reference to the recent weather and that Oliver St. John is at Kazrun [Kazerun] but expects to return by the 21 March (1869).
