Letter regarding Thompson's intention to travel to England via the Caspian, Caucasus and Crimea.

The letter also reports on the movements of Grand Duke Constantine [Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich of Russia] and the Emperor (Alexander II) and thanks Pelly for sending him the cigars, which he intends to use on his travels through Russia.
