A copy of a letter from Brigadier-General John Malcolm, Envoy of the Supreme Government of India to Persia [Iran], to Lord Minto, Governor-General of Bengal, sent from Bombay [Mumbai] and dated 7 January 1810. The letter comments on the mission to Persia of Sir Harford Jones, British Envoy Extraordinary; and expresses distrust in the Persian Court and the prospect of a lasting alliance, in light of the continued French presence in the country and Persian overtures to Russia.
