A copy of two letters from Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires in Persia [Iran], to the Marquess of Londonderry [Viscount Castlereagh], Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, sent from Tabreez [Tabrīz] and dated 4 and 5 May 1822.

Willock reports proceedings at the court of the Prince Royal [‘Abbās Mīrzā A title of honour originally applied to princes, later to military leaders, and later still to secretaries, chieftains, and other ‘gentlemen’. , Crown Prince of Persia] in Tabreez prior to Willock’s departure for England, including the departure of Meerza Sauleh [ Mīrzā A title of honour originally applied to princes, later to military leaders, and later still to secretaries, chieftains, and other ‘gentlemen’. Sāleh Shīrāzī] on a diplomatic mission to Europe, and forwards related correspondence (IOR/L/PS/9/69/90-95).

The letters were enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping.
