The summaries concern the 1857 Indian Mutiny [Rebellion or Uprising], including summaries of reports from the Chief Commissioner of the Punjab, and a summary of a letter to Lord Elgin of 19 May 1857, encouraging Lord Elgin (High Commissioner and Plenipotentiary in China and the Far East) to send European troops from the China Force to India.
