The file consists of summaries of official secret dispatches from Governor General of India in Council, Sir James Outram (in command of the British army in the Anglo-Persian War), Charles Augustus Murray (HM Minister to Persia), the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. , and others. The summaries relate to Aden, China, Sind, Punjab, Afghanistan, Judda [Jeddah], the Kooria Mooria [Kuria Muria or Khuriya Muriya] islands, Baghdad, and Sarawak, including reports on the British Expedition against Persia [the Anglo-Persian War of 1856-1857], and the Indian Mutiny of 1857 [Uprising or Rebellion].
