This volume contains copies of the annual 'Administration Reports of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. ' prepared by the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in Bushire and printed at the Government of India Press in New Delhi for the years 1926-1938.

These annual reports are divided up into a number of separate reports for different geographical areas, usually as follows:

• Administration Report for Bushire and Hinterland
• Administration Report of the Kerman and Bandar Abbas Consulates
• Administration Report for Fars
• Report on AIOC [Anglo-Iranian Oil Company] Southern Area
• Administration Report of the Kuwait Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent.
• Administration Report of the Bahrain Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent.
• Administration Report of the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates.
• Administration Report of the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. , Muscat

These separate reports are themselves broken down into a number of sub-sections including the following:

• Visitors
• British interests
• Foreign Interests
• Local Government
• Military
• Communications
• Trade Developments
• Slavery

The reports are all introduced by a short review of the year written by the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. .

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the rear to the front of the file.
