Highness and this Court will sit in the Hall of “ Majlis” near the Customs in
accordance with Your Highness’s desire or we shall arrange to send it to the
ordinary Court “ Majlis Urfi,” the functions of which will be as formerly, in the
presence of two representatives of both sides. And this Court also will sit in the
place mentioned above. And the Government of His Britannic Majesty has proved
once more its great friendship by this by giving to Your Highness the privilege
you asked for. As to the question of fees i. e. t the payment of Rs. 300/- monthly
to your treasury about which Your Highness has, out of Generosity offered to
forego, the Government of His Britannic Majesty has accepted, Your Highness’
offer with great approval and agreed respecting your motives for their non-acceptance.
And it will be that they will not be paid and the British Government has
appreciated the friendship which Your Highness has expressed in this matter and
thanks you for it and I pray for long life and happiness for Your Highness.
This is what was necessary to be said and please accept my best regards and
compliments and may you remain safe.

for ever, I sent to your Highness a letter dated 22nd February 1919 corresponding
to 20th jumadaloola 1337 in connection with the final arrangements for the Order
in Council of His Britannic Majesty and I have not received any acknowledgment
ot it fiom \ our Highness and I will be glad to receive the acknowledgment so
thai. I mci\ inform the Government of His Britannic Majesty that we have finished
the mattei. This is what was necessary and you may always remain safe, and
compliments.

The papers are mostly copies exchanged between the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. , Foreign Office, and Colonial Office, and forms part of the interdepartmental discussion of matters such as: petitions to the British Government by the Baharnah community in Bahrain complaining about oppression by the Bahrain Government; Wahhabi influence in Bahrain and the protests of the Dowasir tribe over British-backed reforms in the country; the poor treatment of the Baharnah in Qatif by the authorities there; and Shaikh Isa bin Ali's memorial to the Government of India following his removal as the ruler of Bahrain.
