My dear Eyres-Monsell,
I shall he very grateful for
your help on the following question.
2. As you know, the Political
Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. has a
very great deal of occasional
touring to demand it is necessary to
have some expeditious and dependable
means of transporting him, at, I
fear, often rather short notice, from
one point to another. The sloops in
the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. have always been of
the greatest assistance and have done
everything possible to assist the
Resident in the past. Up till
f' i
recently he was, moreover, able for
his ordinary touring to use the
I
Indian Telegraph steamer M Patrick
Stewart”, but she was transferred
from our control on the withdrawal
of the I.E.T.D. from Persia. Our
financial position in India is so
serious that there is no prospect,
at any rate for the rnonent, of being
able to replace her by a special
despatch vessel for the Resident
and we are in very serious difficulty
over his touring. The best we have
