Abstract of Contents of a Despatch to the Secretary to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. , No. 17, dated 22 December 1837.

The Despatch relates to the state of affairs in Nepaul [Nepal], and the Abstract of Contents lists one enclosure, from the Officiating Resident at Catmandhoo [Kathmandu], dated 8 December 1837.
