Treatise on practical examples of the use of algebra in inheritance calculations by Jamāl al-Dīn Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ‘Umar al-Khuzā‘ī (جمال الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن عمر الخزاعي).

The title of the treatise does not appear in this manuscript.

Begins (f. 125v, lines 2-7):

الحمد لله وكل شيء راجع إليه وكل عسير يسير عليه وصلوته على من به اهتدينا إليه أما بعد

فراغي من هذا الكتاب عرض لخاطري أن أضع أبوابًا في وضع إنشاء بعض المسائل المجذورات في

الدور المتضمن لها كتابنا ليتوصل بذلك إلى إنشاء ما أعقلناه من الأصول في المسائل المجذورات لمن

قصد تأليف شيء من ذلك لأن التأليف يسمج به كثرة الصم بخلاف الحادثة ولم أعلم أحدًا من أهل

العلم بالدور سبق إلى وضع هذا نسأل الله التيسير والتسهيل باب في الحج على مذهب الشافعي

رضي الله عنه ...

Ends (f. 130v, lines 11-15):

فهذه أبواب أنشأناها لإنشاء المسائل المجذورات ولم تستكمل

جملة المسائل المذكورة في الكتاب ولا جملة الأصول بل اختصرنا لأن من أدرك هذا لم يخف عليه أن

يقيس على ذلك ما أراد في كل باب وعلى كل مذهب ولعلمنا أن من أكثر الاشتغال بالكتاب المتقدم

وما أنشأناه ههنا حصلت له مادة بقوه على إنشاء ما أراد من المسائل إن شاء الله تعالى نسأل الله التوفيق

والهداية إنه قريب مجيب آمين ...
