About this record
- Content
A copy of a large-scale map of Persia, referred to in an agreement between the British and Persian Governments of 27 December 1895. Notes on the map indicate three boundary lines: a red and green solid frontier line, as drawn by Major Oliver Beauchamp Coventry St John in 1872; a dotted blue line, being the frontier proposed by Sir Henry Mortimer Durand and accepted by the Persian Government; and a dotted red line, superseded by the blue line, and indicating the claim of Kelat [Kalāt] to the whole of the Mashked [Māshkel] district. The map also indicates: hydrology; relief, with form lines; settlements.
The notes on the map are signed by Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Philip Picot, Military Attaché at Tehran, 30 December 1895.
