entered Durrah Geer Kai, came across fresh tracks, and found these thieves
holding a narrow pass with the camels and donkeys in their rear. We fired at
them until 6 p. m. I then divided my people into two parties my brother
taking the hill on one side, whilst I took the other flank. The thieves then
fled leaving the camels and donkeys behind.
When visiting His Highness on the 29th ultimo, he alluded to recent
Murree raids near Bogh and Lehree, in which considerable loss of life and
property had occurred, and asked my advice as to the desirability of cancelling
the order by which Hoombkies and others were forbidden to retaliate or proceed
into Murree country. His Highness gave satisfactory reasons in my opinion
for wishing this order rescinded, but as doing so might possibly interfere with
arrangements that had been made or might be made with the Murree tribe,
I reported on this subject to the Political Superintendent, Frontier, Upper
Sind in my letter No. 66. His Highness has promised to send 100 sowars to
Cutchee on his arrival at Khelat.

prisoner to Candahar. On his arrival General Daood Shah is to send him
under a similar escort to Cabul.

and that the Ameer intends to visit the latter place during Soheil.
No news has been received during the past week from Mekran, Belah or
Nooshky.

The papers cover: political intelligence; tribal movements; reports of raids; the possibility of a threat by Persia against the territory of Khelat [Kalāt], and northern and western Beloochistan [Baluchistan]; and the need for a speedy settlement of the Seistan boundary question.
