heavily.—8. Do. weather, frequent severe squalls, Bar. 29.68.—Midnight. Strong gales ; in
foresail and mizen topsails, down mizen top gallant and royal yards, double-reefed the main
topsail, a high sea on, ship lurching heavily.—2.30 a. m. Mi 0( i erat i n 8" —4. Light breeze at E. S.
E. and cloudy ; squally appearances at N. W.—5. Wind shifted to the S. W.—Day light. Light
breeze and fine ; out all reefs and made all plain sail.—8. Moderate breeze and squally appear
