From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. . It is the tenth in a series of eleven items about the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. • The arrival at Bushire [Būshehr] of Abdullah bin Ahmed [Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Aḥmad Āl Khalīfah] and the fortification of Bushire
• A report from Commander James FitzJames of Her Majesty’s Sloop Clio stating: his opinion of the wreck of the Mary Mullaby [ Mary Mallaby ]; the story of a woman supposedly detained at Kishm [Qeshm]; and the case of five Indian subjects at Muscat
• The arrival of the Governor-General of Mozambique [Rodrigo Luciano de Abreu e Lima] at Zanzibar.
