The dragoman of the Russian Consulate-Genera! has recently purchased
a draft for Rs. 2,500 from a local merchant, Haji Mirza Hassan Yazdi vho
has a branch in Bombay, and has sent it to Ha]i Mirza Abdul Hussein

aimS There is an a^ent of the Central Revolutionary party of Baku in Meshed
whose name is Aqa Hussein Rahimzadeh. From him the dragoman Aliov,
received a photograph of Messrs. Gandhi, Bai Gangadhar Tilak, Khaparde,
Karandiker and Keikar. On it was printed-

Suspects .—Two arrivals from Russia were expected by the Russian Consul-
General. He intercepted them when entering Meshed and had them led
straight to him. Their names are Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. Bek Pulad Khanov and Hassan Quli
Mamiov. Their mission has not been discovered.
Pour Indians, dressed as Persians, arrived in Meshed last week and lodged
in the Uzbeg Sarah Their names are given as Maraj Din, Fatteh Muhammad,
Ghulam Rasul, and Nasir Muhammad. A fifth, Shafi-ud-din, is on his way
from Teheran to join them. They were interviewed and said they were
Mahajarin. They had been to Kabul and from there to Russian Turlnstan
and Batoum fo/they wished to go to Angora. For a reason unexplained they
were unable to go beyond Baton n and deflected their journey to Teheran.
There they received assistance from the Afghan Minister. They refused
at first to visit the British Consul-General, Meshed, hut did so subsequently
hut previously confessed to a member of the staff of this office that they
had been through the Propaganda School in Tashkent. They were reticent
regarding the curriculum at this establishment hut said they had been taught
rifle-shooting.
There is evidently some movement of Indians westwards from Turkestan,
for two sources of information refer to “numbers ” being met with in A-skha-
bad who are desirous of returning to India. Some of these are posing as
having been prisoners in the fighting between the British and Bolsheviks m
Transcaspia, but it is believed that the last of these has been satisfactorily
accounted for.
It is possible that some of these Indians aie taking advantage of the
Bolshevik evacuation of foreign subjects in order to find their way hack to
India, Those v ho were trying to find their way to Angora could not, on
the other hand, have been swayed by any such motive.
Abbas, a Turk and one of Muhammad Taqi Khan’s emissaries to the
Bolshevi ks, has returned to Meshed from Askhabad.
Ivan Petrovich Zielich, a German, who has a long history in the Black
List of this office and who was another of Muhammad Taqi Khans instill
ments- has been issued a pass to proceed to Russia by the Russian Cocsn -
