BELGAUM AND KOLAPOOR.
12. The most important work gmng on in the Belgaum and
Kolapoor divisions was the new road from Belgaum to Vingorla, via the
Parpoolee Ghaut, on the coast. The length of the line is about 77f miles,
and the works have been pushed on as vigorously as possible.
POONA DISTRICTS.
13. The expenditure in the Poona districts was mainly made on
the improvement or creation of lines of communication. That part of
the new Poona and Sattara road which lies within the Poona Collectorate
is estimated to cost

14. Several railway feeders to the G. I. P. Railway in its passage
through this collectorate have been proposed by the Government, but
until lately have not been taken in hand for want of funds. One such
road which crosses the Railway at the station of Kheirgaum, and joins
the town of Seroor, on the Poona and Ahmednuggur road, with the old
Poona and Sattara road at the Neera bridge, has been under construction,
and, for the portion within the Poona collectorate (thirty-seven miles in
length), has received the expenditure of

of this cross road will be 56 miles. Another railway feeder from Bara-
muttee to Khanowteh, 21 miles in length, and crossing the railway at
