6. In the case of Jails the highest total of cases and the greatest pro-
jortion of cases to “strength” occurred in Sind, 3878 and 204-8 respec-
ively ; the highest proportions of deaths to “ strength” and ot deaths to
tases occurred in the Northern Division, 10-0 and 8'4 each. The lowest
proportions of deaths to “strength” and of deaths to cases is found in
3ind, 21 and TO.
7. In the Charitable and other Dispensaries, including the Eye
Infirmary, a total of 157,376 persons were treated. Of them 29,088
were women.' The Hindoos formed 54 per-cent of the whole number of
i^otiAnts tlic Mussulmans 31.
8. The number of persons Vaccinated during the year under report
was 238,760, of whom 109,949 were females. Of the whole number of
persons vaccinated 177,144 were Hindoos, and 817 Parsecs. The infants
under a twelve months’age numbered 79,699. The number of successful
operations is returned at 216,636.
