1.—Established Church oe England.
1. Dtiriugntlie year under review the permanent strength of the Bombay Ecclesiast' i
Establishment was reduced by two chaplains having been transferred together with l
stations of Neemuch and Nasirabad to the Bengal establishment under the charge of the Bish 8
of Nagpur. The total strength thus stands at 25. In addition to these, eight clergymen are
in receipt of salaries from Government.
2. No church was consecrated during the year under report. A cemetery was conSecratJ
at Bhulia. There were five ordinations, and 594 confirmations.
2.—Established Church op Scotland.
Services were regularly held in the churches maintained by Government for the use of
tbe Church of Scotland at Bombay, Karachi, Poona and Kirkee. Regular services were held at
Nasirabad, Mhow, Quetta and Aden, in churches maintained by Government and also in otter
churches at Quetta and Aden. Occasional services were held at Deolali, Khandala, Kotri, Mount
Abu, Ziarat near Quetta, Purandhar and Taragarh. Services were also held at Neemuch, Belgaum
and Ahmednagar by members of other churches acting as chaplains.
2. Stationery.
Purchases in England amounted to Rs. 1,31,692, which, with the previous balance, made up
a total of Rs. 2,83,606. No English stores were purchased in India. Purchases of Indian sto
amounted to Rs. 4,95,799, making with the previous balance a total of Rs. 5,90,233. Total
issues Imperial, Provincial, Local Funds, and others, including adjustments, amounted to
lis. 6,0o,340, and the balance at the end of the year amounted to Rs. 2,70,499. Receipts were
almost Rs. 20,000 larger, and issues Rs. 6,000 less than in the previous year.
3. General Miscellaneous.
1.—Government Central Press.
The gross earnings of the Government Central Press, inclusive of those of the type-foundi]'
attached to it, amounted to Rs. 5,21,563, while the expenditure, including wear and tear of
plant and a book charge of Rs. 17,400 for the rent of the Press Building, amounted to
Rs. 3,28,498. There was thus a net profit to Government of Rs. 1,93,068 against Rs. 1,00,061!

fxr u The increase in the earnings was principally due to the large issue of Becord
° forms, while the decrease in expenditure is chiefly accounted for by a revised
method of payment to the piece-work compositors, and the curtailment of annual reports aud
a large decrease m the printing of the Land Alienation Registers.
2.—Government Printing Press, Karachi.
The gross earnings amounted to Rs. 60,118 and the expenditure to Rs. 42,504, leaving*
pro t of Rs, 17,614 or Rs. 1,8/6 less than last year. Last year’s receipts were swelled by J
printing of the Smdhi translation of the Bill to amend the Code of Civil Procedure acd tie
report or the Select Committee thereon.
3. Government Photozincographio Office, Poona.
The total receipts and expenditure amounted to Rs. 1,04,691 and Rs. 73,780
