1. The rainfall was 164-71 inches, a decrease of 7*8 inches. The season was on the whole
favourable and the crops were good.
2. The local corps was disbanded and amalgamated wifch the State Police. The total
strenoth of the amalgamated force is 329, of whom 191 are armed. The total cost
amounted to Rs. 50,187. There were 271 offences, in which 157 persons were sent for trial;
of these, 90 were convicted. Of stolen property worth Es. 3,246, property valued at Rs, 1,816
was recovered.
3. The number of Criminal Courts is 11. Out of 815 persons dealt with in connection with
428 offences, 216 were convicted. Out of 44 appeals filed, 33 were decided, 19 being upheld,
5 modified, 8 reversed and one quashed.
4. The admissions to the jail numbered 49. The daily average was 12’7 and the cost
Rs. 3,965 against Rs. 2,457 in the preceding year.
5. Out of 2,358 suits for disposal, 1,614 were dealt with. Appeals numbered 153 (first)
and 110 (second). Out of these 99 and 28 respectively have been disposed of.
6. One thousand five hundred and eighty-two documents were registered, the
value of which was Rs. 3,75,704. Corresponding figures for last year are 1,807 and
Rs. 3,62,596.
7. There are 34,791 acres under forest. The receipts were Rs. 30,918 and the
expenditure Rs. 13,259 against Rs. 29,821 and Rs. 13,434 in the preceding year.
8. The total outlay under this head was Rs. 40,363, an increase of Rs. 1,091.
9. The total receipts of the State rose from Rs. 4,45,801 to Rs. 4,97,158. The
expenditure fell from Rs. 5,23,354 to Rs. 4.29,692. The closing balance was Rs. 3,83,392.
10. Receipts amounted to Rs. 43,940 and expenditure to Rs. 46 , 590 , leaving a closing
balance of Rs. 35,356.

Annual administration report of the Bombay Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. , providing a summary record of the main events and developments in each department of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. during the financial year 1909-10.
