6. The issues of opium from Government Depdts amounted to 20,529 lbs. compared Orinm
with 20,571 lbs. in the preceding year, and the amount realized thereon was Rs 2 55 Tfin
against Rs. 2,56,741 in 1908-1909. The tofcil consumption was 20,155 lbs compared
With 29,113 lbs. m the preceding year. The total Excise Opium Revenue increased from
gs. 1,66,526 in the preceding year to Rs. 1,68,622 in the year under report.
7. During the year 97 cases under the Abkdri laws (25 relating to liquor and 72 to Offences,
intoxicating drugs) and 20 under the Opium Act were sent up for trial, in which 82 and 19
convictions respectively were secured.
8 . The total expenditure for the year amounted to Rs. 57,108 against Rs. 75,230
jding year.
3. Aden.
The gross receipts increased from Rs. 93,566 in the preceding year to Rs. 1,08,667, the Excise Revenue,
increase being chiefly under the head of duty on imported foreign liquors. The expenditure
was Rs. 10,598, an increase of Rs. 578. There were two offences against the A'bkdri law, in
both of which the accused were convicted. The gross receipts on account of opium increased
from Rs. 2,350 to Rs. 2,575.
11. Cofcton Duties Act
1. The number of mills producing goods taxable under the Act was 90, a decrease of 1. Number of mills.

Annual administration report of the Bombay Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. , providing a summary record of the main events and developments in each department of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. during the financial year 1909-10.
