20. The total number of suits that came for disposal durin. the year

22. There were 7 appeals during the year, in five of which the judgments of
Appeals. the lower Court were upheld and two were in hand
at the end of the year.
23. There were 8 applications for revision, in seven of which the
judgments of the lower Court were upheld, and in
one the decree was reversed and proceedings remanded

24. Twenty-eight estates of the deceased persons and thirty-two of minors
were under the administration of the Court. There
are at present 61 wards.

25. Thirty-five certificates of heirships were
issued during the year.
26. Court receipts amounted to R-s. 23,922, and expenditure to Rs. 13,458

27. Two hundred and fifty-one male and 15 female prisoners were in
the jail as compared with 213 males and 11 females
in the preceding year. The daily average number of
prisoners was 53 males and 3 females. The cost of the establishment, mainte
nance of prisoners, etc., amounted to Rs. 12,452 against Rs. 12,817 in 1912-13.
Rs. 5,204 were realized by the sale of the articles manufactured in the jail against
Rs. 5,157, in the preceding year. The health of the prisoners was good. No
female prisoner was admitted in the prison hospital against one in 1912-13. Two
deaths occurred. Sixteen prisoners were released on the remission mark system.
No prisoners escaped from custody.
Buildings.
New quarters for the jailor are nearing com
pletion.
28. The number of documents registered during the year was 392 and the

Ibe increase in number and value is in deeds of sale and other documents,
the year’s receipts and expenditure amounted to Rs. 2,998, and Rs. 1,75 J, as
compared with Rs. 2.171 and Rs. 1,685, respectively, in the preceding
fear.
29. Seven bills of exchange were presented for protest, one hill was
noted under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The fees received on is
account amounted to Rs. 52.
