Asylum at Navpada (Thana) during the year.
18. No Marine Court of Inquiry was held during
the year.
19. The Administration of Civil Justice is also vested in the Resident by
civil justice ^ 18(34. The Resident hears appeals from
the decisions of the Assistants, and has also powers of
revision. The Second Assistant Resident hears suits from Rs. 7,500 and over.
The.Third and Fourth Assistants hear suits from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 7,500. The
Registrar of the Court, who has been invested with the powers of Judge of the
Court of Small Causes, hears suits up to Rs. 1,000. The Assistant Resident,
Perim, has also been invested with the powers of Judge of the Court of Small
Causes and tries civil suits there . 1
20. The total number of suits that came for disposal during the year was
