THE
( 675 )
SIMPLEX
PIANO-PLAYER
A MARVEL OF THE 20th CENTURY.
Enquirer’s First Question.
“How does the SIMPLEX differ from other Piano-Players?"
Moore and Moore’s Answer.
“Essentially and vitally both in construction and musical result.'
C onstruction —in the words of
the St. James's Gazette, it has “the
clever device of a clockwork motor
to move the perforated rolls in place of
the now hopelessly antiquated bellows
arrangement.”
The pedals, therefore, are entirely re
lieved from winding the rolls, and only
control the pneumatic fingering.
The improvement on the old style is
startling. The pedalling becomes light
and responsive, that all gradations of tone
instantaneously follow the pressure of the
feet, without affecting time, which is con
trolled by the hand independently.
Accenting levers are thus done away
with, and the mechanism so simplified
that derangement is practically impossible, while the working is smooth and silent.
No injury is done by the SIMPLEX to the finest piano.
M USICAL RESULT.—The SIMPLEX enables the performer to play with
personal and individual sympathetic expression, which is the vital element of true
music, and totally different from machine-made music with mechanical effects.
