12th instant.

In continuation of the letter from this Office, No. 4832, dated the 9th
instant, I have the honor, by direction of His Excellency the Governor in
Council, to forward, for the intormation oi the Gov-

The Customs Master at Bunder Ahbass intimates the re-appearance of
cholera at that port, also that the populace are much distressed by famine.
- - The last day’s reports of the distribution of charity at Busline show some
three thousand persons in distress to he collected near the Residency.
The Armenian and Jewish communities have also appealed for relief for the
poor of either sect, which will be accorded.
It is reported that some six hundred hags of rice charitably contributed by
Messrs. Nicol and Co., of Bombay, will shortly arrive for the relief of the
famishing poor of this neighbourhood.
It is reported that the charitable fund sent to Kazeroon will carry the
remaining destitute there through the winter.
Perfect tranquillity prevails at sea along the Arab Coast.
The pearl fishery in the Gulf is considered to have been very productive
this year.
Her Majesty’s Gun-boat Hugh Bose, B. M., arrived at Bushire from a
cruize on the 28th September and left again on the 29th.
