This file documents the purchase and supply of two official vehicles for the Bahrain Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. : a Humber Super Snipe Saloon and an Austin Sixteen Shooting Brake. Near the beginning of the file the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. states a preference for Humber models as the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. 's official cars (specifically a Super Snipe Saloon and a Super Snipe Station Wagon), since the Government of Bahrain already possesses several of these vehicles, and therefore servicing facilities would be available.
