(;">) All differences between the divers and their Chiefs, will be referred
as previously, to the Court of Salfa.
(4) Every point particular to the Islamic Law will be referred to the
Kazi.
(5) And when both the sides are Muslims, the Court will refer the
points particular to the proof of Wills or the Administration of
inheritance to the Kazi for decision under the superintendence of
the Court.
(6) When any one of your Highness’s subjects institutes a suit
against any one of those under the British rule the Consul will
hear it and in agreement with your Highness will decide it
himself or send it to a Court constituted by a representative of
your Highness and a representative of himself and when the
Defendant is a Muslim, will send it to the Kazi in the presence
of a representative of him.
(7) When any one cf your Highness’s subjects intends to institute a
Civil suit against any one of those under the British rule, it will
be heard by the Consul and in agreement with your Highness,
he will decide it himself or send it to any Court constituted by a
representative of your Highness and a representative of himself
or will send it to the ordinary Court (“Majlis”) or when it is
betw een the divers and their Chiefs, will send it to the Salfa.
(8) When any point appears particular to the Islamic Law, it will be
referred to the Kazi.
(9) When any one under the British rule institutes a suit in any of the
Courts of your Highness and undertakes in writing to obey the
Order of that Court and afterwards refrains from obeying the
Order or paying any fees or costs against him, it will be an
offence against the Law of H. M. the King.
(10) When any one under the British rule gives a false evidence in
any one of the Courts belonging to your Highness, he will be
punished through the British Consul with imprisonment or fine. 11
(11) When any one under the British rule causes to be taken away
inside or outside of Bahrein, goods liable to the revenues going
to your Highness, he will be punished severely.
