(12) According to the Article (11) every one importing or exportin''
forbidden goods, will be punished.
(13) When any one under the British Rule ridicules religion or
religious ceremonies, he will be punished.
(14) As previously, the fees in all suits in which one of the parties is
under Your Highness’s Rule will be taken and given to you.
(15) When the suit is between those under British Rule different fees
will be recovered but in order to please Your Highness, the
Government of H. M. the King have agreed to pay Rs. 300/- to
Your Highness monthly. And this is done only to facilitate
the matter and as it will appear, it is for the good of Your
Highness.
(lo) Lastly I have great pleasure to inform you that the Government
of Great Britain as a special favour and to prove its respect for
your old friendship and to show its good intentions about the
Rulers of Arabia and especially to Your Highness and trusting
in your Justice and equity, has decided to give Your Highness
Jurisdiction over the subjects of Arab Rulers who are in treaty
with Your Highness and the Government of His Britannic
Majesty have full confidence that Your Highness will use the
privilege with kindness and wisdom and good intention so that
there may be no cause for the interference of the British Govern
ment. We emphasize that Your Highness will recognise the
importance of making the Courts in Bahrein in a stable condition
and will understand the contents of this letter and appreciate the
regard which the Government of His Britannic Majesty has
shown to the honour and influence of Your Highness and I hope
for long life tor Your Highness and health and pleasure.

The successor to the Court of Directors. , Foreign Office, and Colonial Office, and forms part of the interdepartmental discussion of matters such as: petitions to the British Government by the Baharnah community in Bahrain complaining about oppression by the Bahrain Government; Wahhabi influence in Bahrain and the protests of the Dowasir tribe over British-backed reforms in the country; the poor treatment of the Baharnah in Qatif by the authorities there; and Shaikh Isa bin Ali's memorial to the Government of India following his removal as the ruler of Bahrain.
