The only work of importance undertaken during the year was the construction of a Accommodation for
bungalow at Godhra from funds provided by the Balasinor State. Travellers.
Nurseries were maintained at various places and the planting, watering and protection of Arboriculture,
road-side trees continued to receive careful attention.
3.—MISCELLANEOUS PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS.
Under this head the expenditure during the year was :■

The brido-e over the river Meshri connecting the town with the Civil station at Godhra improvements to
was completed and opened for traffic. The protective embankment round the town of Kotri Towns,
was repaired.
The construction of a masonry dam for the water-supply of Neral in the TMna District Water-supply,
and work on the Visapur Tank in the Ahmednagar District were in progress. A survey, and
the preparation of plans and estimates, for the Ahmednagar water-supply were undertaken.
Considerable progress was made in connection with the Dh&rwar Water Works, and work m
connection with the Bijapur water-supply was commenced. The improvements to the
Ratnagiri water-supply were also commenced. The whole of the cost of the improvements
will be borne by Government who will maintain the works and charge the Municipality for
the water supplied to it in bulk. Work in connection with the S^ngli water-supply (Deposit
contribution) was undertaken. Plans and estimates for improving the Hyderabad water-
supply were sanctioned and the work was in progress.
The New Pier at the Re was Bunder was in progress. It will be 500 feet in length and Harbours.
IS feet in width with a tee head 86 feet long and 20 feet wide. The depth of water at the
head will be sufficient to permit the ferry steamer to come alongside the pier head at ai
stages of the tide. The Quarantine Pier, Maala, was” completed.
