9. The collection of income-tax, exclusive of realization on salaries of

Income-tax. securities, amounted to Rs. 57,860 which exceeded
the previous year’s receipts by Rs. 1,249. A comparative statement showing
the receipts and charges for the years 1908-09 and 3909-10 is attached
(Appendix XXII(^)).

11. The principal sources from which excise revenue is derived in Aden

The gross receipts amounted to Rs. 1,08,667 against Rs. 93,566 in the
preceding year, showing an increase of Rs. 15,111. This is attributable chiefly
to the head “ Duty on imported foreign liquors ” on account of fairly large
consignments of foreign spirits having been removed from bond by certain
Licensees at the close of the year under report. The establishment and other
contingent charges amounted to Rs. 10,598 against Rs. 10,020 in the previous
year.
{ 12. There were two offences committed against the Abkari Law, viz*
“ Illegal sale of country liquor ” and breach of License condition by the Ganja
farmer. The accused were convicted.
